Associate Professor in agricultural and applied entomology at the Faculty of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Piacenza campus, since December 2019.
Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences on 1985 certified by Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Piacenza campus.
Scientific interests:
His scientific interest and researches are:
biological, biochemical and molecular aspects of insecticide resistance mechanisms in Myzus persicae, Musca domestica e and other agricultural pests;
anatomy and morphology of sensory structures in Diaspidid males, of parasitoid genitalia and exocrin glands Metcalfa pruinosa;
models for grape moths and white peach scale phenology forecasting;
biology, monitoring and control of phytoplasma vectors in grape and tomato;
relationships among maize and grape pests and micotoxigenic fungi;
biology and impact of alloctonous species like Diabrotica virgifera virgifera and Myzus mumecola;
Awards: He was the secretary of the Italian Association for Plant Protection (AIPP) in the triennium 2008-2010. In January 2020 he has been elected president of AIPP.
